"Welcome to the Russia-UK Student Economic Forum jointly organised with the University of Glasgow’s Adam Smith Business School. At the Adam Smith Business School, we aim to follow Adam Smith’s legacy and create world-changing graduates who make a positive impact on culture and society. The theme of this year’s Forum – Technological Trends and Economic Change – plays a critical role in advancing society, while also raising challenging questions. New technologies such as 3D printing, autonomous driving and artificial intelligence will have a profound impact not only on how firms produce and deliver goods and services but also on every aspect of our daily lives, including consumption patterns. The human factor is critical to any discussion around new technologies and economic change, and I invite you to be part of this discussion. Your voice matters as you will be the generation shaping the use of technology and determining how it will affect society. The Russia-UK Student Economic Forum provides a platform to exchange ideas among students of different academic and cultural backgrounds, giving you a unique opportunity to widen your professional horizon, develop new insights on your studies, and make new friends. We look forward welcoming you!"

Professor John Finch

Head of the Adam Smith Business School, University of Glasgow

"Dear friends!
I am very happy to welcome you at the Russia-UK Student Economic Forum "Technological Trends and Economic Change" hosted by the Institute of Economics, Mathematics and Information Technologies (EMIT) of the Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA). The latest achievements of science and technology, and recent trends of the digital economy affect virtually all spheres of our life. These changes are capable of bringing the world economy to a new level of development, adding a new dimension to an economic growth, modifying, in one way or another, all spheres of public life – law, ethics and social processes. How successfully these technological trends will serve economic prosperity, largely depends on you – the young professionals who are starting their professional path in the field of economics, business and information technology. At the Forum, you will have the opportunity to offer your constructive vision of the future economy. You will engage in a week of intensive work and collaboration with colleagues from Russia and the UK. You will also enjoy a rich cultural and entertainment program!"
